A section through the T-2–T-3 intercrest region, the caudal tip of the notochord and the mid- and hindgut junction
Observe:
1. The lumen of the tailgut.
2. The close association of the notochord with the primitive filum terminale dorsally and the tailgut ventrally.
3. The attachment of the amnion to the ventral body wall at the umbilical cord.
4. The larger size of the right umbilical vein compared to the left umbilical vein.
5. A ventral segmental artery.
