A section through the T-3 neural crest and the cranial part of the hindgut.
Observe:
1. The caudal edge of the neural canal.
2. The three primitive germ layers in the tail bud with their relative positions.
3. Two subdivisions of lateral mesoderm: somatic and splanchnic.
4. The bifurcation of the common umbilical vein into right and left umbilical veins.
5. The cranial part of the hindgut suspended by the dorsal mesentery.
