S-2 somite, T-5 dermatome, T-5-T-6 intercrest region, T-6 dermatome, cloaca, dorsal aorta, gonadal ridge, hindgut, lateral mesoderm, left umbilical artery, left umbilical plexus, median sacral artery, mesonephric duct, mesonephric ridge, notochord, pelvic part of coelom, right umbilical artery, right umbilical vein, urogenital sinus, ventral segmental artery (inferior mesenteric)

A section through the T-5–T-6 intercrest region and the junction of the mesonephric ducts with the cloaca at the level of the S-2 somite.

Observe:
1. The median sacral artery (caudal continuation of the dorsal aorta) and its position between the notochord and the cloaca.
2. The umbilical plexus of veins in the lateral body wall.
3. The urogenital sinus between the umbilical arteries.
4. The pelvic part of the coelom.
5. The ventral segmental artery (inferior mesenteric) that courses from the dorsal aorta to the hindgut.
