A section through the ventral part of the rhombencephalon and otocyst.
Observe:
1. Rhombomeres 1 through 6 in the wall of the rhombencephalon.
2. The two parts of the facioacoustic crest with the acoustic part terminating on the otocyst.
3. The formation of the trigeminal preganglion adjacent to the ectoderm.
4. The primary head vein that is lateral to the otocyst but medial to the trigeminal preganglion.
5. The spinal accessory nerve between the rhombencephalon and occipital myotomes.
