A section through the myelencephalon and spinal cord junction and the di- and mesencephalon junction of the neural tube.
Observe:
1. The cochlear (spiral) ganglion of the vestibulocochlear nerve adjacent to the cochlear pouch.
2. The geniculate ganglion of the facial nerve.
3. The motor root of the trigeminal nerve medial to the trigeminal ganglion.
4. The ventral edge of the fourth ventricle (median sulcus).
