A general low-power view of the implantation site. The superficial position of the almost completely implanted embryo is evident at the top of the picture. The endometrium, in the 26th day of the menstrual cycle, shows a typical premenstrual pattern. The predecidual change in the stroma is most evident beneath the surface of the endometrium.
